Muppets Rock 'n' Roller Coaster

Disney Parks officially pulled back the curtain this morning on the future of Sunset Boulevard. The Electric Mayhem has finally revealed the first song for the reimagined Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Guests will soon launch into the dark to a brand-new cover of Blur’s “Song 2.” This high-energy track was recorded exclusively for the attraction by the Muppets. Dr. Teeth handles the lead vocals while Animal provides a heavy focus on the drums.

The “Woo-Hoo” Launch And New Audio Tech

The choice of “Song 2” is a deliberate move for the coaster’s 0-to-57 mph launch. The iconic “Woo-Hoo” hook will synchronize perfectly with the moment guests hit the track. Disney has reportedly upgraded the limo’s onboard audio systems for this transition. The new recording features a crisp, psychedelic rock sound that fits the band’s aesthetic. Fans can expect a much punchier audio experience than the previous Aerosmith tracks provided.

Muppet Lore And The G-Force Records Takeover

The storyline for the attraction is receiving a major “deep-cut” update for Muppet fans. The pre-show reveals that the “G” in G-Force Records now stands for JP Grosse. Longtime fans will recognize him as Scooter’s uncle and the owner of the Muppet Theatre. JP Grosse has leased the studio to the Electric Mayhem for their latest recording session. Guests enter the studio for a tour but find the band in total chaos.

Managing The Mayhem In The Recording Studio

Scooter is the primary lead in the new pre-show footage. He is frantically trying to manage the band and their audio engineers. In a classic Muppet twist, the engineers are actually a crew of busy penguins. The band is running late for a massive, sold-out gig across town. Guests are invited to jump into a “super-stretch limousine” to help the band make the show. This keeps the core “race through Los Angeles” theme while adding Muppet humor.

A Psychedelic Transformation On Sunset Boulevard

The physical changes to the attraction are already visible to guests at Hollywood Studios. The massive 40-foot Stratocaster outside the building has been repainted. It now features psychedelic swirls and Electric Mayhem logos. New posters have replaced the old rock memorabilia in the outdoor queue. These posters feature Dr. Teeth, Animal, Janice, and Zoot in their signature styles. The “G-Force Records” marquee has also been updated to reflect the new management.

The Countdown To The Full Setlist Reveal

Disney isn’t stopping with just one song reveal today. A live countdown clock has appeared on the official Disney Parks website. This clock is ticking down to Thursday, April 16, 2026. Disney has promised a “full setlist” reveal once the timer hits zero. Fans are also expecting the official opening date to be part of that announcement. The project is currently slated for a “Summer 2026” debut, which is fast approaching.

Looking Ahead To A Muppet Summer

The excitement for this reimagining has reached a fever pitch. Replacing Aerosmith was a massive decision, but the Muppets seem to be a perfect fit. The blend of rock music and comedy should breathe new life into Sunset Boulevard. We will be watching the countdown closely this Thursday for the final details. Stay tuned for more updates as Hollywood Studios prepares for its biggest opening of the season.
