The child did not accidentally slip or lose her balance. She deliberately sat on the stone barrier before sliding down into the habitat trench. Nearby visitors actively yelled at the girl to step away from the ledge prior to her drop, but she ignored the warnings.

The steep layout of the rock wall prevented the young girl from climbing back out on her own. Recognizing that the child was trapped in the ditch, nearby adults quickly sprang into action.
