An Orlando man was arrested Tuesday night on a felony count of video voyeurism inside Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. A guest caught the 21-year-old suspect recording illicit footage inside a highly popular Tomorrowland attraction queue. Law enforcement quickly took him into custody following an immediate confrontation by the victim.
The disturbing incident occurred between 7:05 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. in the queue line for TRON Lightcycle / Run. While waiting to board the ride, a female guest heard a suspicious noise coming from directly behind her. When she turned around, she discovered the suspect crouched down on his hands and knees. He was holding a black iPhone and angling the camera upward directly underneath her skirt.
Disney Security and Law Enforcement Intervene
The victim immediately confronted the man and demanded that he delete the recorded file. The suspect showed her his phone screen to demonstrate he was deleting a video. However, the victim noted she could not verify if he deleted the actual footage of her or a completely different file. Disney Security personnel located the suspect on theme park property shortly after the incident. Security officers detained him and brought him to the park’s security office to await law enforcement. You can see his mug shot below:
Orange County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the park and read the suspect his Miranda rights. He agreed to speak with investigators and initially claimed he crouched down near a wall outlet to charge his phone. However, when questioned about recording the guest, he fully confessed to capturing a 15-second video of her. He explicitly stated he recorded the footage with the intention of keeping it for his own sexual gratification.
Suspect’s Background and Legal Status
According to the arrest affidavit, the suspect stated to deputies that he was visiting the theme park as a chaperone. He was reportedly accompanying students with the South Creek Chorus group. When investigators asked if his phone contained any additional illicit images, the suspect declined to answer further without an attorney present.
