The end of a musical era is officially in sight at Disneyās Hollywood Studios. On January 27, 2026, legendary Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton made a surprise appearance at the park. He visited the iconic Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith for what is likely his final time as the attractionās featured artist.
Hamilton did not visit the park alone. He was accompanied by members of his new powerhouse rock band, Close Enemies. The group includes his longtime bass tech Trace Foster, Peter Stroud, Tony Brock, and lead singer Chasen Hampton. Notably, Hampton is a former member of the 1990s Mickey Mouse Club.
The visit served as a poignant “full-circle” moment for several people in attendance. Pictured alongside Hamilton were Sean and John Kamenar of the band Kamenar. The twin brothers are currently opening for Hamilton on tour. They famously credit the Aerosmith coaster as the reason they started playing music at age 13.
@yes.its.al Wackiest thing just happened! We're on line to get into the Aerosmith Rockin Roller Coaster attraction in Hollywood Studios, and some of the band just happens to also be here. The Current State Of G-Force Records
Fans hoping to catch the original pre-show one last time are unfortunately out of luck. Disney quietly “gutted” the recording studio pre-show back in December 2025. The screens featuring Steven Tyler and the band have been removed. Guests now walk directly through the empty studio room toward the loading area.
Disney confirmed that the attraction will officially close on March 2, 2026. This means March 1 is the very last day to experience the Aerosmith version. The coaster will undergo a massive transformation into Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. It is currently slated to reopen in Summer 2026.
What To Expect From The Muppets Retheme
The reimagined ride will feature Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. Guests will join the band on a high-speed trip across Hollywood. While the track layout and inversions remain the same, the visuals are changing. The giant red guitar outside will receive a psychedelic new paint job.
Even the guitar’s base is getting a makeover. One of the piano keys will be painted gold to honor Dr. Teethās iconic gold tooth. The new experience will also feature a first-of-its-kind Scooter animatronic. He will act as the band’s frazzled manager trying to keep the concert on schedule.
