The Walt Disney Company and YouTube TV, owned by Google/Alphabet, successfully reached a new multi-year distribution agreement. This deal brings an end to the frustrating 15-day content blackout for millions of subscribers. Disney immediately restored all Disney-owned channels to the platform following the announcement on November 14, 2025. The restoration came just in time for key weekend sports programming.

Channels and Content Are Back

The new agreement secures carriage for Disney’s full portfolio of networks. Subscribers now have access to all channels previously included in their base plan. Key channel families returning to the platform include the full ESPN network suite, ABC, FX Networks, the main Disney-branded channels, and National Geographic channels. The contract also delivers significant added value for subscribers. ESPN’s new direct-to-consumer Unlimited Plan will be included for base YouTube TV subscribers at no extra cost. Disney plans to roll out this major perk, which greatly expands sports content, by the end of 2026.

Ending the Two-Week Standoff

The agreement resolves a heated dispute that began when the prior contract expired on October 30. During the 15-day standoff over distribution fees, subscribers missed critical live sports and entertainment programming. To mitigate the inconvenience, YouTube TV offered affected customers a $20 credit on their next bill, provided they claimed it manually before December 9, 2025. The new deal shows an ongoing commitment to streaming flexibility. It includes the option for YouTube TV to offer the Disney+ and Hulu Bundle as part of select packages in the future. Both companies praised the deal, stating it provides customers with “more flexibility and choice” in how they access Disney’s valuable content.
