Disney’s Chief Creative Officer Jared Bush has a big dream for the future of the animal kingdom. During a recent fan Q&A session, he revealed he wants to cast Keanu Reeves in the potential third film. Bush shared this exciting news on X to celebrate the massive success of Zootopia 2. The director noted that Reeves would be a perfect addition to the growing world of mammals.
The Rise of “The Baba Llama”
Bush even has a specific character already in mind for the action star. He wants Reeves to play a lethal assassin named “The Baba Llama.” This clever name is a direct play on Reeves’ iconic John Wick nickname, the “Baba Yaga.” Interestingly, the idea actually came from Bush’s young son. The director admitted he cannot imagine a better cameo for the franchise.
Zootopia 2 Shatters Box Office Records
The casting wish comes as Zootopia 2 dominates theaters around the globe. On December 12, 2025, the sequel officially crossed the $1 billion mark. It reached this massive milestone in just 17 days. This feat makes it the fastest animated PG film in history to hit that number. Fans are clearly still in love with the adventures of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. Take a look at Bush’s post below:
I’m a huge John Wick fan. And my son has begged me to ask Keanu Reeves to play an assassin named “The Baba Llama” – and I can’t imagine a better cameo!

A Tradition of Celebrity Cameos
The Zootopia franchise is famous for its high-profile voice appearances. The current sequel features Michael J. Fox as a fox prisoner named “Michael J.” His scene even includes several nods to his Back to the Future roots. Additionally, fans were surprised to hear Disney CEO Bob Iger in the film. He provided the voice for a weather forecaster named “Bob Tiger.”
From Weatherman to Bob Tiger
Bob Iger’s cameo is a fun “meta” joke for Disney historians. Before he became a media mogul, Iger’s very first job in television was as a weatherman. Seeing him return to his roots as a tiger forecaster added a special layer of humor for adult viewers. This tradition of using big names for small, funny roles is part of the movie’s charm.
Looking Toward the Future
While Zootopia 3 is not yet official, the billion-dollar success makes it almost certain. Jared Bush has already teased a logo sketch for the third installment. He also hinted that the next story could dive deeper into Nick Wilde’s childhood. Keanu Reeves previously worked with Disney as Duke Caboom in Toy Story 4. Fans are now hopeful he will return as the world’s first llama assassin.
