Ready to rock with a new band? Disney has just unveiled major details about the future of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios. The classic attraction is getting a total Muppets makeover, with a new storyline and is expected to open in 2026.
The New Storyline
The attraction’s storyline will feature the Electric Mayhem band preparing for their biggest Hollywood concert ever. Things go wrong in classic Muppet fashion, and the band is nowhere to be found. Guests will take a VIP tour of G-Force Records. Scooter’s uncle, J.P. Grosse, just acquired the label, and the Muppets now manage it.
A Frantic Race to the Concert
The backstage tour quickly turns into a frantic race. With help from Muppet Labs, guests will board a super-fast limousine. Their mission is to get the band to their concert in time. The ride will keep its thrilling track and layout, but it will feature all-new visuals and scenery.
Details and Design Changes
The scenery will feature a Muppet-inspired take on iconic Hollywood landmarks. A new soundtrack will feature classic rock hits performed by the Electric Mayhem. Guests will see changes to the attraction as soon as they approach the ride.
The iconic giant red guitar outside the coaster will get a vibrant and psychedelic new design. A classic Muppet car paint job inspired the design. Designers will add a golden key to the piano motif at the base of the guitar, paying tribute to Dr. Teeth. Animatronics of Scooter and penguin audio engineers will add to the organized chaos inside the queue. Disney expects this new attraction to revitalize one of the park’s most popular thrill rides.
