The Main Street Opera House at Disneyland has officially entered a new era of storytelling. Starting February 12, 2026, the park implemented a daily rotating schedule for its two landmark theater presentations. This move allows the classic Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln to share the spotlight with the recently debuted Walt Disney – A Magical Life as part of the ongoing 70th Anniversary celebration.
For fans of the “Great Emancipator,” the morning belongs to Abraham Lincoln. Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln now runs from park opening until 1:30 PM daily. This attraction, which Walt Disney famously pioneered for the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair, remains a cornerstone of the park’s history. Its return to a daily schedule ensures that one of Walt’s most personal projects continues to inspire guests just as it has for decades.
Two Icons, One Stage
Beginning at 2:00 PM, the theater shifts focus to the man who started it all. Walt Disney – A Magical Life takes over for the remainder of the day, typically running until 8:00 PM or park close. This groundbreaking show features the first-ever Audio-Animatronic figure of Walt Disney. Set in a 1963 recreation of his office, the production uses archival audio to allow Walt to share his own story of persistence and imagination.
This seamless daily transition is made possible by a technological marvel backstage. During the theater’s recent renovation, Imagineers installed a massive turntable stage. This allows both the Lincoln and Walt sets to remain fully dressed and ready to go. The 30-minute window between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM is all the time Cast Members need to rotate the stage and prepare for the next performance.
A Gallery Of Dreams
While the theater shows require specific timing, the Opera House lobby remains a full-day experience. The “Evolution of a Dream” gallery features rare artifacts from the Walt Disney Archives and the Walt Disney Family Museum. From early concept art of the park to the legendary “cranberry lamp” from Walt’s private apartment above the Firehouse, the lobby offers a deep dive into Disney history regardless of which show is currently on stage.
This new rotating schedule is a perfect tribute for the 70th Anniversary, honoring the legacy of the 16th President and the visionary who built the “Happiest Place on Earth.” Whether you visit in the morning or the evening, the Main Street Opera House remains a must-visit destination for anyone looking to connect with the heart of Disneyland.
