Disney Springs Now Requires Reservations For Resort Bus Service

Disney Springs implemented a major change to resort bus transportation on March 29, 2026. Previously, the bus loops allowed open boarding for all guests. The new policy now requires strict reservation verification for resort-bound travel. Guests must prove they have a valid reason to visit a resort. This shift marks a crackdown on transportation hacks during the busy Spring Break season.

Mandatory Scanning Process

Cast Members must scan your MagicBand or mobile device at the Disney Springs bus loop. This scan confirms an active Disney Resort hotel stay or a dining reservation. Guests with booked recreational activities also qualify for boarding. These include spa appointments or guided boat cruises. This verification happens before you enter the queue for a specific resort bus.

Cracking Down On Free Parking

Disney is using this measure to stop guests from using Disney Springs for free parking. Many visitors park at the Springs and then bus to a resort to get closer to a park. This scan ensures that bus seats remain available for paying resort guests and diners. The policy also keeps the Orange and Lime garages open for actual shoppers. This is especially important during one of the busiest weeks of the year.

Holiday Capacity Management

Disney officials describe this as a temporary measure for the 2026 Spring Break season. It manages the massive crowds expected through the upcoming Easter weekend. However, the company tested similar verification methods during the recent New Year’s Eve window. Many insiders expect this policy to return during every major holiday throughout 2026. Guests without a verified reservation will face denied boarding at the loop.

Planning For Your Visit

Ensure your My Disney Experience app is updated before using resort transportation. Linking your reservations and preparing your MagicMobile pass will prevent delays. Scanning only occurs at the Disney Springs bus stations. You do not need to scan your band to ride from your resort to the Springs. Guests without a verified reservation must find alternative transportation, such as a paid rideshare.
