The sudden news surfaced during an episode of the podcast Dropping Names with Brent and Jonny. Star Trek alums Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes host this popular digital show together. Spiner voiced the character Puck during the original 1990s run of the show. He dropped the major bombshell right in the middle of their latest conversation.
Frakes famously voiced the villainous David Xanatos in the original animated television run. He expressed initial skepticism regarding internet rumors about a potential franchise revival. Spiner quickly doubled down by explaining that someone told him the news directly. He stated that an entirely new animated series is definitely on the way.

A potential animated return marks a massive milestone for this classic television property. The original series first debuted back in October 1994 during the Disney Afternoon block.
