Disney announced today that all Disney+ subscribers in the U.S. will be able to stream the Super Bowl in 2027. The game will also air on ESPN and ABC, making this the first Super Bowl ever streamed on Disney+.
Super Bowl LXI kicks off Sunday, February 14, which is Valentine’s Day, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. It will be the first Super Bowl ever produced by ESPN, and ABC’s first since 2006. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will call the game, with Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge reporting from the sidelines.
What Disney+ Subscribers Get
Disney+ subscribers will see the full game presentation, including the national commercials. The streamer will also carry ESPN Deportes’ Spanish-language broadcast. Outside the U.S., Disney+ will stream the game in more than 55 international markets, including Latin America, Brazil, and Australia. Fans without Disney+ can still stream it on the ESPN app, home of the ManningCast with Peyton and Eli Manning.
Monday Night Football Comes First
Subscribers won’t have to wait until February for some NFL action, though. Disney+ will stream two Monday Night Football games this season, starting with the Cowboys at the Eagles on October 26. The second game hasn’t been announced yet, and both will still air on ESPN, ABC, and ESPN Deportes.
A Record-Breaking Super Bowl for Disney
Disney has already sold every commercial slot for the game, the earliest sellout by a network in Super Bowl history. Fifty-eight brands across 34 categories bought spots, including nine companies making their Super Bowl debut. It beat NBC’s pace for this year’s game by about a month and Fox’s 2025 pace by three months.
Disney reportedly asked advertisers for as much as $10 million for a 30-second spot. Many of those spots reportedly sold for between $8 million and $9 million. Disney didn’t share its total ad revenue, but CFO Hugh Johnston announced the sellout during an earnings call in August.
ESPN is also going big for Super Bowl week, turning Santa Monica Beach into ESPN Beach starting February 8. The week-long broadcast hub will include interactive games and family-friendly entertainment on the Santa Monica Pier.
