Muppets Rock 'n' Roller Coaster

Disney’s Hollywood Studios guests received a massive surprise this morning. The construction walls finally came down at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. High green walls and heavy scrims blocked Sunset Boulevard for months. This kept the ride’s transformation a total mystery. Today, the courtyard reveal showed off a vibrant new look before this month’s official reopening. Rolling planters still guard the entrance, but fans can finally see the progress.

The iconic 40-foot tall Fender Stratocaster features the most striking changes. Disney completely “Muppet-fied” the guitar for the new theme. The original ruby red finish is gone. A psychedelic paint job with blue, green, and yellow stripes now covers the icon. Artists added bright yellow stars to match the energy of The Electric Mayhem. A singular “golden key” on the piano base honors Dr. Teeth’s famous gold tooth.

A New Studio Storyline

The updated signage throughout the G-Force Records courtyard is now visible. Crews removed the old Aerosmith guitar sign to make way for Muppet-centric branding. In this new story, Scooter’s uncle, J.P. Grosse, purchased the studio. He gave The Electric Mayhem a permanent place to record. The entrance now feels like a high-energy Muppet production with themed studio details.

The heavy walls are gone, but the ride is not ready for guests. Rolling planters form a perimeter while crews finish the final ground painting. This move is standard for the final stages of a Disney refurbishment. Many locals expect Cast Member previews to begin within the next week. The area looks clear of heavy construction equipment.

The Grand Reopening Countdown

The attraction will officially reopen on May 26, 2026. This date aligns perfectly with the Memorial Day weekend crowds. The high-speed launch and inversions remain, but the experience is entirely new. Guests will hear one of five rotating tracks by The Electric Mayhem. The soundtrack features stars like Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, and Def Leppard. Every ride will feel like a brand-new concert.

The transition to The Muppets marks a major shift for Sunset Boulevard. Early reactions to the revealed courtyard are overwhelmingly positive. Bright colors and playful Easter eggs have breathed new life into the park. Fans should monitor the My Disney Experience app for surprise soft openings. It won’t be long before we are rocking through the studio with the band.
