Deputies arrested a 34-year-old woman at the Magic Kingdom entrance following a confrontation on a Disney ferryboat. The incident occurred on February 28 around 1:00 p.m. as guests exited the Admiral Joe Fowler boat. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Amanda Pinheiro Muir now faces a felony charge. She allegedly attacked a person 65 years or older. The victim uses a wheelchair and was waiting for the crowds to clear.

Confrontation on the Ferryboat

The victim sat on a bench near the ferry exit. She asked her husband to watch her feet so no one would step on her. Pinheiro Muir walked nearby and took offense to the comment. She reportedly told the woman that she could punch her in the face. The victim tried to laugh off the verbal threat. However, the situation escalated instantly. Pinheiro Muir then poured her iced coffee over the victim’s head in front of many witnesses.

Law Enforcement Response

Deputies arrived and located the suspect quickly. They conducted an initial interview regarding the disturbance. Pinheiro Muir admitted to pouring the drink on the older woman. She claimed she was upset because the victim insulted her son on the boat. However, the victim and her husband denied any prior interaction with the woman. Florida law upgraded the battery charge to a felony because the victim is over 65.

The suspect required a Portuguese interpreter during her court appearance. She has since pleaded not guilty to the charges. The victim expressed her full intent to prosecute the case. She remains cooperative with the ongoing investigation. Disney security assisted in the apprehension of the suspect at the scene. This case highlights growing concerns regarding guest behavior. Many guests were shocked to witness such aggression at the ferry terminal.

The arrest report notes that no other witnesses corroborated the suspect’s claims. Prosecution will move forward in the Orange County circuit court system. The state is currently reviewing the evidence from the Sheriff’s Office. This incident serves as a reminder that physical altercations carry heavy legal weight. The suspect remains under legal supervision while the court determines the next steps.
