Port Canaveral welcomed a massive new visitor today. The Disney Adventure docked at the Florida port on its global journey. This ship is currently traveling from Germany to its permanent home in Singapore. It is acting as a “Global Ambassador” for the cruise line during this transit. Fans gathered early this morning to catch a glimpse of the fleet’s newest giant.
This vessel is truly a record-breaker for Disney. It weighs approximately 208,000 gross tons. This makes it the largest ship in the entire fleet. It can carry nearly 6,700 guests at full capacity. For comparison, it is significantly larger than the Disney Wish or Disney Treasure.
A Theme Park on the High Seas
The ship features seven unique themed neighborhoods. Guests can explore the Disney Imagination Garden or the Marvel Landing area. Marvel Landing actually holds the first roller coaster on a Disney ship. This ride is called the Ironcycle Test Run. It offers a high-speed adventure high above the ocean waves.
This ship also introduces new technology to the cruise industry. It is the first Disney vessel to use green methanol fuel. This helps reduce emissions during long transits. Inside, guests will find new dining experiences inspired by Pixar and Marvel films. There is even a dedicated area for Big Hero 6 fans called San Fransokyo Street.
The immersion extends to the very air of the ship. Guests can visit themed areas like Wayfinder Bay or Toy Story Place. These zones offer interactive water play for children. Every corner of the vessel reflects a different Disney, Pixar, or Marvel story.
The Long Voyage to Singapore
The stop in Florida is only temporary. The Disney Adventure will soon transit the Panama Canal. From there, it heads across the Pacific toward Tokyo and Singapore. It has traveled thousands of miles since leaving the Meyer Werft shipyard. This journey marks the beginning of Disney’s massive expansion into the Asian cruise market.
The official maiden voyage is set for March 10, 2026. The ship will homeport in Singapore for at least five years. It will offer three- and four-night sailings in the region. These “cruises to nowhere” allow the ship to be the main destination for travelers.
