Avengers Doomsday

The road to the Multiverse Saga finale is now clear. Avengers: Doomsday (December 2026) is the new title for the first part of the conclusion, replacing The Kang Dynasty. This film will act as the catastrophic setup, forcing a universal collapse. The entire MCU Doomsday Reset Story will conclude one year later with Avengers: Secret Wars (December 2027). Secret Wars remains the ultimate, reality-altering event where the final reset occurs.

Industry reports consistently suggest this two-part finale will trigger a soft reset. This reset could affect up to 25% of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The reset will fix continuity issues and officially fold legacy characters into the main continuity.

The Collapse Begins with Doomsday

The shift in the title from The Kang Dynasty to Doomsday indicates a change in narrative focus. The fifth Avengers film will now focus on Doctor Doom, who serves as the major antagonist. Doomsday is the expected Infinity War of this saga, where the heroes face a massive, losing battle.

The film will likely conclude with an event known as an Incursion. An Incursion is the destructive collision of two parallel universes. The event sets the stage for the true reset, leaving reality fractured.

Secret Wars: The Conclusion and The Clean Slate

Avengers: Secret Wars will serve as the Endgame of the Multiverse Saga. This film features the actual reset. The story centers on Battleworld, a temporary, patchwork reality. The surviving fragments of collapsing universes create this reality. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige addressed the confusion over the event, stating, “Reboot is a scary word. Reboot can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. Reset, singular timeline — we’re thinking along those lines. X-Men is where that will happen next.”

The climax of Secret Wars will reportedly feature a reality-altering event that resets the entire Multiverse. This “reset” will incorporate necessary characters like the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. These heroes become native to the primary MCU timeline. The 25% figure describes the portion of the established storyline that Marvel adjusts or eliminates. This ensures a cleaner path forward for Phase Seven.

Doctor Doom Takes Center Stage

The choice of Doctor Doom as the central villain solidifies the reset speculation. In the comics, Doctor Doom famously manipulates the power of the Multiverse to become God Emperor Doom. He restructures all of existence according to his will. With Robert Downey Jr. reportedly returning to play a version of Doctor Doom, the stakes rise higher than ever. His involvement provides the narrative mechanism necessary to execute a successful, in-universe reboot of the timeline. The Multiverse Saga now becomes a direct path to the complete reconstruction of the MCU, not just a build-up to a fight against Kang.
