Halloween and Disneyland

Halloween at Disneyland Resort promises an extra dose of magic this year, blending beloved spooky traditions with the ongoing Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration. From August 22 through October 31, 2025, guests can immerse themselves in quintessential fall sights, sounds, and flavors across both theme parks, Downtown Disney, and the resort hotels. Get ready for a season of enchanting nostalgia and festive frights!

Halloween Time at Disneyland Park

Disneyland Park fully transforms for Halloween Time. Signature decoration elements materialize, including ambient orange lighting, festive bunting, colorful leaves, and an abundance of pumpkins. In addition, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends debut vibrant new Halloween looks. These outfits feature swirling colors of purple, green, and orange, offering a fun twist on their 70th Celebration attire. Guests will want to wave “hello” and snap a photo with these festively dressed characters.

Furthermore, the beloved Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction overlay returns. This popular transformation invites guests into a world where Halloween’s spooky charm meets Christmas’s magical glow. It remains a must-see for fans of “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas,” as they reunite with Santa Jack, Sally, and Zero inside the eerie estate. Also, catch “Halloween Screams,” the nighttime spectacular. This show fills the skies with haunting projections and special effects, featuring creatures of the night and iconic Disney Villains like Hades and Ursula. On select nights, this experience becomes even more magical with accompanying fireworks. For guests seeking more thrills, Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour offers a unique, two-hour walking tour. It unearths chilling stories and includes Lightning Lane access to a select attraction and reserved viewing for “Halloween Screams.”

Spooky Delights at Disney California Adventure Park

Over at Disney California Adventure Park, Radiator Springs takes on its “wheelie boo-tiful” transformation into Radiator Screams. Guests will enjoy Halloween overlays like Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween and Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree. Lightning McQueen and his friends join the fun in their creative “car-stumes.”

Additionally, in the evenings at Avengers Campus, guests should check out Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark. Groot has been left behind in the Collector’s Fortress, now overrun with monsters. In a thrilling chase, guests team up with Rocket to distract the beasts and escape the chaos with Groot before they get caught. Something new is brewing in the Disney Theater for kids: “Mickey’s Trick and Treat“! This interactive show temporarily replaces “Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!” It rings in the spirit of spooky fun without any real scares, and guests even get to take home a special treat.

Plaza de la Familia: A Heartfelt Celebration

From August 22 through November 2, 2025, Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure hosts the return of Plaza de la Familia. This heartfelt celebration is inspired by the spirit of Día de los Muertos and Pixar Animation Studios’ “Coco.” It reminds us to treasure the everlasting bonds of familia.

Plaza de la Familia

The event once again features live entertainment from the “Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate the Musical World of Coco!” Guests can also savor delicious Mexican cuisine, create artful crafts, and enjoy a special photo opportunity with a hand-animated dimensional figure of Miguel. Many continue the tradition of visiting the Mexican Árbol de la Vida (Tree of Life) and adding a note of remembrance to the memory wall. Furthermore, a new Disney Pixar Coco Collection, including apparel, accessories, and headwear, will be released in early September.

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party

The separately ticketed Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party returns to Disney California Adventure Park on select nights from August 17 through October 31. This family-friendly, after-hours event offers unique experiences. Guests can creep through Villains Grove at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail and satisfy their sweet tooth at immersive Treat Trails, encountering characters along the way. The “Frightfully Fun Parade” is another highlight. Guests can also book spots for the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party for an extra sweet parade viewing experience. Admission also includes entry to Disney California Adventure Park three hours before the party begins and unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital photo downloads from the party.
