Dude Perfect is teaming up with Disney in a major new partnership. The deal brings the popular YouTube group’s videos to Disney+ and ESPN. Disney announced the company-wide partnership today. It covers entertainment, sports, consumer products, and Disney parks and experiences.
Disney will add part of Dude Perfect’s existing short-form video library to Disney+. Those videos will also appear on ESPN and Disney’s social media channels. Dude Perfect will create new videos inspired by Disney franchises and events. Some of that new content will stream on Disney+ too. Disney has not shared details about the consumer products or parks side of the deal.
Super Bowl, Star Wars and Avengers Content Coming
Disney already has three big projects lined up with Dude Perfect next year. The first is Super Bowl LXI, which Disney+ will stream, [as we previously reported](LINK TO SUPER BOWL STORY). Dude Perfect will also make content for Star Wars’ 50th anniversary. The group will tie in with Marvel’s “Avengers: Doomsday,” including content for its series “Overtime.” “Disney taught us to go big and dream, and that has shaped everything we’ve built,” said co-founder Garrett Hilbert. The two first teamed up last year for a Disney parks world record, as you can see below:
Dude Perfect’s Disney Parks World Record
Last October, Dude Perfect set out to visit all 12 Disney parks around the world in under 75 hours. Garrett Hilbert and Sparky finished the trip in 74 hours and 14 minutes. That beat the previous record of 75 hours and 6 minutes. The video pulled in more than 13 million views in its first day, the channel’s second-biggest debut ever. A fundraiser tied to the challenge raised more than $1.2 million for Make-A-Wish.
Who Is Dude Perfect?
Dude Perfect started in 2009 as a trick-shot channel run by college roommates at Texas A&M. The group includes Tyler Toney, twins Coby and Cory Cotton, Garrett Hilbert and Cody Jones. Today, Dude Perfect runs its own studio in Frisco, Texas. It has more than 130 million followers and over 22 billion lifetime views. The group also tours live, sells merchandise and hosts a podcast called “Almost Athletes.”
Disney has signed several online creators recently, including Dhar Mann and Like Nastya. Disney’s chief marketing and brand officer, Asad Ayaz, praised the group’s creativity. “Dude Perfect brings a distinctive voice and an inventive approach to everything they do,” Ayaz said. Fans don’t need to worry about Dude Perfect leaving YouTube. The group will keep making videos for its own channels. Disney did not share the financial terms of the deal.
