McDonald’s Halloween Boo Buckets are getting a Disney villains makeover this year. Five new buckets featuring classic Disney villains are coming to Happy Meals soon. A popular fast food leak account says they will arrive Tuesday, October 20. McDonald’s has not announced the exact date yet.
Each bucket features a different villain in a bold, matching color. Maleficent gets a green bucket, while Jafar gets red and Scar gets orange. Cruella De Vil gets a white bucket, and Ursula gets purple. Every bucket also comes with a sticker sheet, so kids can decorate their own. The stickers feature characters from each villain’s movie, plus McDonald’s-themed designs.
A First Look at the Buckets
At least one McDonald’s has already received its official in-store display for the buckets. A McDonald’s employee shared a photo of the poster, which shows all five buckets and their stickers. It also confirms the buckets come with Happy Meals. Listings for the buckets have already popped up online, some asking more than $100. The leak account also shared the full lineup on social media.
McDonald’s has not shared how long the buckets will be available. Boo Buckets usually stick around for a limited time, while supplies last. Availability can also vary by location, so it may be worth calling ahead.
A Halloween Tradition Since 1986
McDonald’s first introduced Boo Buckets in 1986. The plastic pails replace the usual Happy Meal box, and most kids use them for trick-or-treating. The buckets took a six-year break before returning in 2022. They have come back every Halloween since. Last year’s lineup featured a ghost, pumpkin, goblin, cat and zombie. This year’s villains lineup is a big change from those classic Halloween designs.
Get Them Before They’re Gone
Boo Buckets usually sell out quickly, and collectors often resell them online. Fans who want all five should head to McDonald’s early. Expect long drive-thru lines, especially on the first day. The villains theme also arrives as Disney fans await Villains Land at Magic Kingdom. That new land will bring Disney’s most famous bad guys to the park.
