The Walt Disney Company is raising subscription rates for several of its popular streaming services, including standalone plans and multi-service bundles for Disney+ and Hulu. Subscribers will soon see changes to their monthly billing statements as the entertainment giant rolls out adjustments across multiple tiers. These updates reflect the ongoing shifts in the streaming industry as companies balance content investments with operational profitability.

Under the new pricing structure, standalone ad-free plans for both Disney+ and Hulu are increasing by $2.50, which brings the monthly cost up to $21.49. Meanwhile, the standalone plans that include advertisements will rise by 50 cents to reach $12.49 per month. These immediate changes apply to all new subscribers, while current members will see the updated rates reflected on their billing cycles starting next month.

Exploring New Bundle and ESPN Pricing Tiers

Fans who subscribe to bundle options will also experience adjustments depending on their specific plan configuration. The premium ad-free bundle combining Disney+ and Hulu is increasing by $2 from $19.99 to $21.99 per month. Similarly, the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select bundle with ads will go up by $2 to $21.99, while its ad-free counterpart increases by $3 to reach $32.99 per month.

Fortunately, not every tier is subject to a price hike during this rollout phase. Disney confirmed that its most popular package—the joint Disney+ and Hulu subscription featuring advertisements—will remain completely unchanged at $12.99 per month. Furthermore, the higher-tier ESPN Unlimited bundles with and without ads will keep their current pricing structure of $35.99 and $44.99 per month respectively.

The Bigger Picture: Streaming Integration and Ecosystem

These price adjustments arrive alongside Disney’s broader efforts to streamline its digital ecosystem through a unified app experience. Subscribers can now easily link their viewing profiles and watch histories between Disney+ and Hulu within a single interface. Company leadership continues to emphasize that these integrated features provide greater value and convenience across entertainment and live sports offerings.

As streaming platforms continually evolve to meet market demands, users may want to review their current billing cycles and account settings. Evaluating whether ad-supported tiers or bundle packages best fit household budgets can help mitigate the impact of these changes. Staying informed ensures that fans can continue enjoying their favorite movies and television shows without unexpected financial surprises.
