A prominent conservative advocacy group is sounding an urgent alarm regarding upcoming family entertainment. One Million Moms recently issued a public warning against Disney’s new supernatural series titled Coven Academy. Officials want parents to reject the project entirely before its scheduled network television premiere.
The organization argues that the show promotes dark themes to vulnerable young audiences. Specifically, critics object to the heavy inclusion of witchcraft, sorcery, and occult elements. Leaders cited biblical scriptures from Deuteronomy and Isaiah to reinforce their stance against supernatural practices.
Trailer Concerns and Target Audience
Promotional trailers for the project highlight several elements that drew immediate backlash. The teaser showcases teenage romance, vampires, and a secret witch sisterhood operating inside an elite school. Critics also noted the use of music by pop artist Olivia Rodrigo during promotional spots.
Set in New Orleans, the supernatural drama follows young students navigating magical conflicts. The cast features notable actors including Tiffani Thiessen and Malina Pauli Weissman. Disney scheduled the official premiere for October 1 on Freeform, with episodes arriving on streaming platforms the following day.
Boycott Pledge and Community Pushback
In response to the upcoming release, the advocacy group launched an online boycott pledge. Organizers urge supporters to sign the document and refuse viewership entirely. The campaign encourages parents to share warnings across social media to spread awareness before launch day.
Media analysts note that advocacy campaigns like this often spark intense online debates. Supporters rally around traditional family values, while defenders point out that fantasy storytelling has long anchored youth television. As release day approaches, public discussion continues to grow rapidly across multiple digital channels.
