The viral TikTok creator widely known as the “Peter Pan Girl” is finally breaking her silence. She is speaking out to address the massive online backlash and viral memes surrounding her Disneyland videos.
For ten years, the creator posted videos of her weekly Disneyland visits with character performers. Millions of viewers watched the clips circulate across social media platforms. Online critics quickly slammed her interactions as completely inappropriate.
Setting the Record Straight
Amid the online firestorm, the creator spoke with USA Today to share her side and clear the air. She explained that the internet made her love for the character seem bigger than it is. “People can take something small and turn it into something big without even knowing what it’s truly about,” she noted.
She admitted the recent attention has “been a little rough” this past week. Adding context to the viral storm, she stated, “I’ve never expected to, like, blow up this much – of like, the entire internet to know I exist.”
Defending the Fandom
Reflecting on her decade-long devotion, she recalled a “magical” experience during an early visit. She pointed out that she does not always seek out the character, sharing, “I actually was there yesterday. I don’t even always meet him.”
Despite heavy scrutiny regarding boundaries, she stood firm in her passion. She explained that being a true Disney adult simply “means letting out your inner child.”
