Disney+ has officially ordered a pilot for a live-action series. The show draws inspiration from the iconic EPCOT attraction, Spaceship Earth. Produced by 20th Television, this project marks a major new chapter. Disney continues adapting its legendary theme park icons into narrative entertainment.
A powerhouse creative team leads the production. Jason Fuchs serves as showrunner and executive producer. Michael Waldron co-wrote the pilot and joins as an executive producer. Lee Toland Krieger directs the pilot and executive produces alongside Adam Fishbach and Adam Fasullo. Casting for the project is currently underway.

The series departs from the educational history of human communication found in the ride. Instead, the project embraces a bold and high-concept sci-fi premise. The official logline sets up much higher narrative stakes. A mission to avert a global cataclysm goes wrong. Teens from Earth’s past and future must unite against a mysterious threat.
This adaptation follows a long line of Disney theme park translations. Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise found massive success on the big screen. Bringing a geodesic architectural icon to television via a teen drama is a fresh direction.
The pilot order arrives during a broader streaming strategy push. Disney wants to expand its original content ecosystem. A pilot order does not guarantee a full series greenlight. However, the network can test this nostalgic sci-fi concept.
