The Walt Disney Company and TikTok announced a landmark global partnership today. This first-of-its-kind agreement allows social media creators to craft short-form videos using official assets from major brands like Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and FX. The collaboration bridges traditional Hollywood intellectual property with modern digital communities to capture mobile-first audiences.

The Verts Integration on Disney+

Participating creator videos will live simultaneously on TikTok and inside the mobile Disney+ app via “Verts.” This vertical video destination serves as a major strategic push to engage subscribers more deeply. Disney executives noted that fan-created content extends the cultural lifespan of television shows and films.

Disney will regularly refresh the content displayed on Disney+ to reflect active fan discussions. This integration helps subscribers explore more stories across the streaming platform. It follows previous industry initiatives aimed at building user-generated content pipelines for mobile viewers.

The Disney Creator Ambassador Program and Future Rollout

The initiative launches with an initial U.S. pilot program in the coming months before scaling globally to international markets. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed by either company.

Disney and TikTok will jointly run a tiered Creator Ambassador Program. Top-performing creators will receive perks like boosted algorithmic visibility, exclusive corporate event access, and professional career development pathways.

Massive engagement metrics drive this collaboration forward. Internal platform data reveals that fans shared millions of film and TV-related posts daily last year, with nearly half of surveyed viewers confirming that social media content directly prompts them to watch full series and movies.
