An electrical track malfunction prompted an orderly guest evacuation at Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion. The incident occurred near the park’s closing time. A minor technical issue caused the attraction’s continuous Omnimover ride system to come to a temporary halt.
Standard Evacuation Procedure Safely Executed
Following the initial stoppage, Cast Members advised passengers to remain seated while technicians assessed the system. Approximately 10 minutes later, operational staff adjusted the protocol to initiate a standard walk-off evacuation. Operators used the attraction’s overhead PA system to provide clear verbal instructions. They detailed how riders could easily press the manual safety release latch on the left-hand side of the clamshell doors.
With the interior house work lights fully illuminated for safety, parkgoers smoothly exited their stationary vehicles. Guests walked single-file along the designated track pathways. They calmly assisted one another alongside children and elderly passengers as they passed through the graveyard scene. The illuminated show building exposed the underlying industrial infrastructure, wiring grids, and structural backings behind the classic illusions, as you can see in the video below:

Disneyland Officials Confirm All Guests Exited Safely
Disneyland officials later confirmed that the operational team acted out of an abundance of caution. Staff members were systematically deployed throughout the interior show scenes to monitor the paths. Workers actively assisted guests during the exit procedure. The park confirmed that all visitors were evacuated from the building safely, and no injuries were reported.
The classic New Orleans Square attraction completed its standard maintenance checks following the electrical resolution. The Haunted Mansion successfully reopened to the public the following day and has resumed normal operations.
