Walt Disney Imagineering used a detailed seasons and regions approach to capture over a dozen spectacular flyover locations across the United States. The new film features famous national landmarks like Mount Rushmore, the Statue of Liberty, and Grand Canyon West. Guests will also soar over the rugged New England coastline, the autumn colors of the American heartland, and the beautiful shores of Hawaii. This geographic diversity showcases the vast beauty of the entire country from coast to coast.
Upgraded Senses And Classic Musical Score
The attraction features major technical enhancements to bring these vibrant American landscapes to life. Composer Bruce Broughton returned to arrange an entirely new orchestration of the late Jerry Goldsmith’s beloved original musical score. The updated ride programming also utilizes advanced wind effects, smooth motion simulation, and specialized scents tied directly to each scene. These sensory upgrades immerse riders deep into the environments as they glide through the air.
Guests waiting in line at EPCOT can enjoy a brand-new interactive queue experience called The Soarin’ Challenge Across America. Disney developed this interactive trivia game through a unique partnership with National Geographic. The game pulls beautiful photography and educational facts directly from the NatGeo archives to test guests on American geography and culture. This engaging pre-show distraction will keep families entertained before they head to the hangars.
Bi-Coastal Rollout Schedules Announced
Because this attraction is bi-coastal, Disney announced two distinct opening timelines for the summer launch. At EPCOT, Soarin’ Around the World recently closed to allow crews to make the technological switch. Annual Passholder previews begin this week ahead of the official public grand opening on May 26. Meanwhile, Disney California Adventure will run Soarin’ Over California through June 30 before officially launching the new version on July 2.
These seasonal overlays are designed to wrap guests in a sense of wonder and patriotism during the peak travel months.
