A 27-year-old Florida man faces a third-degree felony charge following a shoplifting incident at Disney Springs on March 2, 2026. Security personnel at the shopping district observed the suspect taking dozens of items from multiple retail locations. This arrest highlights the increased vigilance of Disney Security during the busy Spring Break season. Authorities transported the man to the Orange County Jail after he allegedly admitted to the thefts.

The Multi-Store Spree

A Cast Member at DisneyStyle first spotted the suspect concealing Disney Trading Pins in the front pocket of his shorts. The man then moved toward the West Side neighborhood and entered a Starbucks restroom. Disney Security continued to monitor his movements as he entered the Star Wars Galactic Outpost. At this second location, a security officer observed the man placing more pins into his pockets.

The Confrontation And Arrest

Orange County Sheriff’s Deputies and Disney Security confronted the man shortly after he left the Star Wars shop. A search of his backpack and person revealed a total of 50 different trading pins. According to official police documents, the suspect admitted to taking the merchandise without paying. The total value of the stolen pins reached approximately $922 after tax. This amount surpasses the $750 threshold required for a grand theft charge in the state of Florida.

Felony Consequences And Mental Health

If a court finds the man guilty of this third-degree felony, he faces significant legal penalties. These include up to five years in prison, five years of probation, and a $5,000 fine. The suspect’s mother spoke to local media outlets regarding the arrest of her son. She claimed that he is mentally unwell and described the incident as a mistake. The State Attorney’s Office has not yet filed formal charges against the individual.

Security At Disney Springs

This incident occurred during a period of high guest volume at Walt Disney World. Disney Security frequently coordinates with local law enforcement to monitor high-traffic retail areas like the West Side. Guests should remember that all merchandise locations utilize both physical and electronic surveillance. For now, the suspect remains anonymous as the legal process continues to move forward in Orange County.
