As many visitors expected, the final day of 2025 has brought record-breaking crowds to Walt Disney World. Magic Kingdom officially reached its physical capacity limits at approximately 10:30 AM this morning. Cast Members and guests on the ground confirm that officials implemented phased closures early. This move effectively blocks new entries as the park hits its safe attendance threshold.
Gates Restricted at Magic Kingdom
Disney often uses the “sold out” label for reservations. However, the situation today has escalated into a true capacity event. The parking lots at the Transportation and Ticket Center reached their maximum limit hours ago. Consequently, security teams are forcing a total redirect of all incoming traffic. Entry touchpoints are strictly monitoring the gates and turning away many “Park Hoppers.”
Record Wait Times at EPCOT
The crowd surge at EPCOT is equally intense as guests prepare to ring in 2026. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is maintaining a staggering 225-minute wait time. Most major attractions across the resort are seeing triple-digit waits. The closure of both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach further impacted this density. A cold weather advisory forced those guests into the four main theme parks instead.
Shoulder-to-Shoulder Crowds
Guests inside the parks describe the atmosphere as shoulder-to-shoulder. Main Street U.S.A. and the World Showcase are at a near standstill. People are already claiming spots for the midnight countdown. Top-tier Lightning Lane passes were completely exhausted before noon. This leaves standby as the only way to experience any rides for the remainder of the day.
Monitoring Entry Status
If you are stuck outside the gates, keep a close eye on the My Disney Experience app. Entry status can shift if enough guests depart after the early fireworks show. However, safety remains the top priority for Disney officials. The gates will likely remain under heavy restriction for the rest of the evening.
