Dracula Land

A massive, ambitious tourism project is set to transform the European theme park landscape. Dracula Land is scheduled for a grand opening between 2026 and 2027. Located just 20 minutes from Bucharest, Romania, and near the international airport, the resort represents a staggering $1.17 billion (over €1 billion) private investment. Spanning 160 hectares, developers are billing this complex as one of Europe’s most significant new destination resorts. It blends Transylvanian history and gothic mythology with world-class, high-tech entertainment.

The project is led by founder Dragoș Dobrescu. Chris Lange, known for his work at Europa-Park, handles creative direction. The vision targets driving global tourism through a complete ecosystem. Economic projections are huge: the project will create over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs. It aims to attract roughly 3 million visitors annually in its first phase. Dracula Land positions itself as a cultural landmark and a significant economic engine for the region.

Six Themed Zones and Key Attractions

The central theme park will feature six distinct themed zones. It will host over 40 major attractions. The park’s storytelling heavily draws upon the Dracula mythos and Romanian folklore. Dracula’s Castle will be the iconic centerpiece. This zone will feature a flagship attraction: the high-speed “Flight of the Bat” wing coaster. It also offers an immersive dark ride through the catacombs. Other highlights include the Transylvania zone, which offers the “Carpathian Express” mountain coaster. The Port of New Orleans zone is set to feature a multi-launch coaster themed around werewolves.

Beyond the rides, the complex encourages longer stays. The resort will feature three distinct themed hotels. The Dracula Grand Hotel, Family Hotel, and Inn will total 1,200 rooms. Additionally, the development includes a 22,500-seat multi-functional arena. This arena can host major concerts, festivals, and international esports events. This commitment to non-park entertainment secures the resort as an all-weather, year-round destination.

The entire experience integrates a “Phygital” component, adding a modern twist to the gothic theme. Developers are building a Dracula Land Metaverse using Unreal Engine 5. This metaverse offers remote interaction and digital ownership through NFTs. The entire ecosystem will utilize the native DraculaCoin token. By leveraging a powerful cultural brand and cutting-edge digital technology, Dracula Land aims to lead the next generation of destination tourism in Europe.
