A conservative group is planning a mass, unsanctioned gathering at Disneyland, dubbing it the “MAGA Invasion.” The California-based 805 Patriots organized the event. The group aims to have like-minded people visit the park together. The event is scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026. This gathering promises to mix political statements with theme park enjoyment.
What Are the Organizers’ Plans?
The 805 Patriots stated the purpose of the event openly. They want to give conservative families a chance to experience Disney together. They also want to achieve the secondary goal of actively attempting to “trigger as many liberals as possible in their home turf.” The group chose Disneyland after running a poll on their social media pages. Disneyland won overwhelmingly against other regional theme parks.
The organizers provided specific instructions for attendees. They asked them to wear red MAGA hats and their group’s special “patriots in the park” T-shirts. Ordering one of these T-shirts acts as an informal RSVP. Organizers specifically told followers to avoid bringing flags, however. This instruction is due to the park’s strict policy prohibiting flags and banners inside the resort.
A Clash of Unofficial Gatherings
The political nature of the planned “MAGA Invasion” creates potential for friction. Organizers set the event for the exact same day as the annual Gay Days Anaheim gathering. The Gay Days event, known as “Mini Gay Days” on this date, attracts large crowds of LGBTQ+ guests and allies every year. Both events are entirely fan-organized. The Disneyland Resort does not officially sanction, sponsor, or endorse either event.
Disneyland’s Official Position
Disneyland has not released a statement on the 805 Patriots’ planned event. The company maintains a clear policy regarding unauthorized activities. The gathering will operate outside of any official park support. The park also maintains the right to enforce its strict dress code. While the park does not explicitly ban general political slogans, the park can deny entry or remove guests. The park takes action if it deems attire offensive, disruptive, or harmful to the family-friendly atmosphere. Disneyland aims to maintain a neutral and welcoming environment for all guests.
