Walt Disney Imagineering continues to innovate with major updates to audio-animatronic figures across Walt Disney World. These changes blend cutting-edge technology with timeless storytelling. The latest upgrades showcase how far Disney’s mechanical magic has advanced, from lifelike movements to updated characters.
Zootopia’s Benjamin Clawhauser Joins Animal Kingdom

Zootopia: Better Zoogether! debuts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on November 7, 2025. The show introduces an all-new audio-animatronic of Benjamin Clawhauser. Clawhauser sports a bright Gazelle T-shirt and an energetic smile. He welcomes guests to Zootopia’s city celebration with fluid gestures and next-level expression. This figure represents an exciting leap forward for Disney’s show technology.
Frozen Ever After Gets a Nordic Upgrade

EPCOT’s Norway pavilion is set for a major Frozen Ever After animatronics update in early 2026. This refresh is inspired by Hong Kong Disneyland’s World of Frozen. It will see the ride’s controversial rear-projected faces finally replaced. The updated Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff figures will feature more realistic, fully sculpted facial animation. This change will bring Arendelle’s magic closer than ever with smoother motion.
The Muppets Rock Out in 2026

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will debut in Summer 2026. The re-imagined ride will feature Scooter as an audio-animatronic for the very first time. He will interact live with the Electric Mayhem band. Expect wild lighting effects, signature Muppets chaos, and comedy in every scene.
A Legacy of Innovation
Disney has spent decades perfecting its audio-animatronic craft. This legacy extends from the early Tiki Room birds to the lifelike Na’vi Shaman of Pandora. Today’s figures combine robotics, 3D printing, and advanced programming. These technologies create performances that feel almost human. This proves that Imagineering’s magic continues to evolve.
