For the generation who grew up with the anthem, “This is me!”, get ready to rock all over again. Disney has officially greenlit Camp Rock 3 and it’s coming to both Disney+ and the Disney Channel. This highly anticipated new film will feature the return of original cast members, along with a new class of talent.
A Look Back at the Legacy
The original Camp Rock movies were more than just films. They were a cultural phenomenon. The first two films are among the Top 10 Disney Channel Original Movies of all time. Their chart-topping music and memorable musical numbers launched the superstar careers of the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. The franchise continues to live on in the hearts of fans to this day.
The Return of Connect 3
Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas will be returning to their iconic roles. They will once again play the members of the band Connect 3: Shane, Nate, and Jason Gray. Maria Canals-Barrera will also reprise her role as Connie, Mitchie’s mother. The band and their fans are all grown up.
The Plot
The story picks up when Connect 3 loses the opening act for their reunion tour. They return to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big music act. Campers vie for a chance to open for their favorite band. Tensions rise as friendships are tested, leading to new alliances and unexpected romances.
New Talent and Behind the Scenes
Demi Lovato is on board to executive produce the film alongside the Jonas Brothers. Lovato, however, will not be reprising her role as Mitchie. A new cast of rising stars joins the film. Liamani Segura, Malachi Barton, and Lumi Pollack are among the new campers. The movie has already begun filming in Vancouver.
A New Generation
The return of Camp Rock is a full-circle moment for everyone involved. It’s a chance to reintroduce the world of the original movies to a new generation of viewers. The film promises to be filled with the same catchy music and energetic storytelling that made the originals so special. The franchise is back to inspire new campers and fans alike.
