DINOSAUR Animal Kingdom

Disney has announced the official closing date for the beloved DINOSAUR attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The iconic ride, a staple of DinoLand U.S.A., will thrill its last guests on February 1, 2026. This marks a significant change for the park as Imagineers reimagine the entire land to bring new adventures to life. The ride’s closure is a definitive end to an era for fans of the classic attraction and its thrilling journey back in time.

DinoLand U.S.A.’s Phased Closure

A phased plan will transform DinoLand U.S.A. Several other areas, including TriceraTop Spin and The Boneyard playground, have already closed their doors to guests. These initial closures affected several retail and game locations. They paved the way for the larger transformation.

New Land and Attractions Announced

In its place, Disney is developing a new land. It is called Tropical Americas. This new area will open in 2027. It will draw inspiration from the diverse cultures of Central and South America. Tropical Americas will feature an all-new Encanto-themed attraction that takes guests into the fantastical Madrigal family home and a brand new Indiana Jones attraction.

The New Indiana Jones Adventure

The new Indiana Jones ride will replace the DINOSAUR attraction. It will use the same show building. Disney is designing this as a new adventure. This experience will be different from any other Indiana Jones ride around the world. The new land will also include a quick-service dining location. A character carousel will be there as well. New opportunities to meet characters are also planned.

Relocations for Favorite Characters

With these closures and changes, some existing offerings are moving. The popular Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Chip ‘n’ Dale meet-and-greets will find new homes elsewhere in the park. In addition, the menu items from Restaurantosaurus, which also closes with the land, will move to Harambe Market. Harambe Market will undergo a refurbishment in late 2025 to prepare for the new menu.
