A Fusion of Heritage and Innovation
This latest Test Track iteration, presented by General Motors, lovingly harks back to Epcot’s original World of Motion attraction. It blends classic optimism and creativity with cutting-edge technology. The journey celebrates mobility’s past, present, and thrilling future. Guests will discover a refreshed experience from the moment they enter the queue. Engaging exhibits replace the previous “design your own car” pre-show. These showcase historical transportation milestones and innovative concept vehicles.
The ride itself features entirely new show scenes and an all-new musical score. A dynamic dual-narrator format guides you through the experience. Both a live guide and an automated vehicle voice now lead the journey. Imagineers have utilized over 29,000 points of light. These show how vehicles “see” the world through advanced cameras and sensors.
The Thrill You Know, Enhanced
The attraction introduces many new elements. Yet, the heart-pounding thrill that Test Track is known for remains central. The ride vehicles boast a sleek, updated design. They draw inspiration from advanced research and development prototypes. They maintain the familiar seating arrangement. Most importantly, the exhilarating high-speed outdoor loop continues as a highlight. It propels vehicles at up to 65 miles per hour. This reinforces its status as Walt Disney World’s fastest attraction. The outdoor scenic environment has also received a refresh, blending with the updated aesthetic.
Navigating Your Experience
Leading up to these general soft openings, Cast Members, Disney Vacation Club Members, and Annual Passholders received various exclusive preview opportunities. For its official debut, Test Track is confirmed as a top-tier Lightning Lane selection. Guests can bypass the standby line via Disney Genie+ or individual purchase. It will be part of Epcot’s Lightning Lane Multi Pass system as a Tier 1 attraction. This means it will group with other top attractions like Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
Unlike some other recent openings, Test Track will not use a virtual queue upon its official reopening. Instead, guests will use either the standby line, single rider line (expected), or Lightning Lane. It will also immediately join the lineups for both Early Entry and Extended Evening Hours for eligible guests.
