Disneyland today offered a first look at its incredible new Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic. This highly anticipated figure is an integral part of “Walt Disney – A Magical Life,” an attraction set to debut July 17.
This groundbreaking figure is the first Audio-Animatronic to bring Walt Disney himself to life. Imagineering developed this key component for over seven years. The project aims for unprecedented realism.
The attraction resides in the Main Street Opera House. It presents a cinematic journey leading to an encounter with the Walt animatronic inside his recreated office. Get a glimpse of this amazing figure in action, as you can see below:

Using archival footage and restored audio recordings, Imagineers have created a show that aims to share Walt’s own words and story with new generations of park guests.

A Deeper Look at the Experience
The full “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” show plays an important role in Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration. The Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic portrays him around 1963. It features innovative details like a “twinkle in the eye” and a unique “lean-to-stand” motion. This makes it one of Disney’s most advanced human figures to date. All dialogue from the animatronic uses carefully restored original audio recordings of Walt’s own voice. This provides an authentic and moving experience.
Imagineers significantly changed the Main Street Opera House to accommodate this new show. It now boasts a state-of-the-art rotating turntable stage. This design allows “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” to eventually play in rotation with the beloved “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.” This ensures guests can enjoy both iconic experiences. Additionally, new gallery exhibits now feature in the Opera House lobby. These include “Evolution of a Dream,” which chronicles Disneyland’s development, and another dedicated to Audio-Animatronics history. For its opening, “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” will use a virtual queue system to manage guest access.
